Cancer can impact a person’s life in many ways; their relationships, their bodies, how they are feeling and more. It can touch every part of what makes someone who they are. And we know that for many, sex and intimacy following a cancer diagnosis is a huge concern.
Macmillan have created a good source of information, support and advice and sex and relationships and have a number of videos and leaflets you may want to access around sexual wellness.
In addition, if you have received radiotherapy this may affect how you feel about sex and intimacy, both mentally and physiologically (and may be some time after treatment has ended). An appointment at the Sexual Care After Radiotherapy Clinic offers a safe space to talk about any changes that have occurred. You may want to attend the appointment with your partner, or alone. The service is confidential, you must live within the Swindon area and is conducted by trained Therapeutic Radiographers.
Please call the service directly if you wish to self-refer or to find out more about the service. Telephone 01865 227 213 (8am-1pm Monday-Friday) or
